Question on How To Get Quality Links That Take Time & Effort To Get

Hello,

I previously attended an SEO seminar from some of the Top SEO's in my area and one of the big questions answered was what kind of linkbuilding works in 2013.

The answer: All kinds of links!
Well, in a more detailed answer it comes down to receiving all kinds of links from all kinds of sources but the big word BUT, you cannot simply stick to one method of linkbuilding. So for example, maybe one month you create automated links with SENuke and GSA, then the next month you need to manually find links from your competitors, then the next month comment on relevant blogs, then the next month get a bunch of social signals. etc.

This makes sense, and this method was verified by several sources that rank for highly competitive keywords. However, I would like the BHW forum to create a list of High quality links that we can focus on creating rather than just simply using automated software.

I will start the list with what I think can be really high quality Tier 1s
1. Youtube Videos
2. Competitor links (use ahrefs or OSE to find blogs in your competitors link profile to comment on)
3. High PR blog posts
4. Manually created Web 2.0s
5. Create another relevant Website with unique content

Let's keep the list going!

Landing Page/Sub Pages

So I have 7 landing pages made up for 7 primary keywords.
Now, I want to get those up in google obviously for those keywords. They are just single page landing pages, but I'm thinking about setting up wordpress blogs in subdomains ie url.com/additional_keyword_string and then have RSS content pertaining to my industry fed into the blogs.

Do you think that would help or hurt my efforts?

What are the best tools to find out what my competitors are doing in terms of where their backlinks and anchor text are etc?

Thanks so much!

Anyone who created a company in Thailand/Philippines?

Hey guys,

So I decided to move to Philippines/Thailand and start my company there (I'm from Europe). Now, I'm looking at the options and trying to decide which city to target. For now, I believe Legazpi, Philippines looks the best city to be in (I also have some friends there).

What do you guys think? Any input will be appreciated

So do the 301s pass penalty or not?

It will works only if change the content on the newer domain with other theme. Just copy/paste the content will be huge footprint and if not now possibly late google will get the penalty again.

What kind of penalty? If the pagerank is there the chances to get positive reviews are huge. If the domain is deindexed, than forget your site. For deindexed domain all you can do is change the theme and the content on this domain and host it on other IP.

It just seems way, way too easy to penalize competition's websites like this. I thought that was usually a deterrent to such penalizations. Surely the rule isn't set in stone, but it seems like passing on penalties would be the natural response people would take after reeling over a loss like SAPE links turning negative.
So you can do 301 redirect from any competitors' domain to new one? You can't LOL!
Anyway - of course negative SEO trough 301 is possible and special after the last google update for this from about a month. This can be easy done trough few high PR domains (or possibly few deindexed), but with 301 to the domain and not trough 301 from domain.

More about the penalty escape - don't just get new domain. My point is, that if you get relevant, aged domain with pagerank and authority, than the transfer (the redirect) will looks much more natural. I mean 301 redirect means transferring to new domain to protect the SERP and link juice (can be found in google webmasters help). If the domain you use for redirect is aged, this will looks like 2 aged companies are combined in one.

Again this is just my point and I haven't tested it - I've never have domain with high profits. All my tests with 301 is buying old domain and redirect to social pages, fiverr gigs and other domains for quick boost and it work very good.

EMD for 5 words Key phrase?

I wouldn't waste time on this.

Although EMD's have partly influenced SERP again since last update (very slightly) - a 5 word EMD aint going to stay on page one ever.

I used to have a dozen or so Adsense related sites that were EMDs with less words and they have almost all dropped off the face of the earth.

In terms of %influence on EMD's here is a snapshot so you can see how irrelevant they are (less than 2% contribution to rankings)

Seeking for motivation: how much money can someone earn from a website ?

Hey guys!

I have just finished my week of hard work as a developer at my workplace. Now, like very evening and/or night, no matter if it is during the week or the weekend, since the day I have decided to do something for myself, meaning working on my own websites, I am at duty (almost 12 pm). Currently I am writing a bunch of high quality articles for my brand new website. As you all know that is not easy, it will take me several days or weeks (yes, I know it seems long but I am very picky so I make a lot of research in order to get all the information possible) to have a big number of top-of-the-top articles but it will pay at the end. Once that is done, I will create the web 2.0 sites (well, I have already began with two of them), meaning another round of great articles, then I will use Scrapebox, tool that I have just bought based on your advice, to work on the backlinking, plus other techniques I have learnt here, on BHV. I am a little bit tired after all those nights of few hours of sleep, so I need a boost.

How much did you make with your websites, daily, monthly or yearly? Come on, I need some good NOS (for cars) news to help me staying awake.

F*ck google

Here's a question for you. If you were to eliminate Google (and Bing, Yahoo etc.) entirely from your online marketing efforts, how would you drive traffic to your website? Where would you devote your time and energy?

One of my niche sites is purely driven by Facebook and twitter traffic.

The one thing I will say is that although social media can drive traffic, you need to remember why people are on social media in the first place: They are there for the entertainment and social experience. People don't go to social media to buy stuff therefore social media traffic has a tendency not to convert too good.

I'm not trying to deter you from social media campaigns but just be aware unless you understand who you are aiming for on social media and have the perfect product, you may waste a lot of advertising money until you get it right.

You will always need the search engine model to make money because people use search engines to solve a problem.

Good luck!
